RJ has practiced in commercial real estate since 2002 and has accumulated broad-based experience in corporate and institutional representation, retail, office, and industrial leasing, acquisitions and dispositions, entrepreneurial real estate projects, and senior and mezzanine financing for projects secured by real estate. In addition, RJ has advised clients on issues related to entity formation, joint ventures, ground lease developments, and regional zoning and land use matters.

In his practice, RJ has represented major institutional investors, Fortune 100 companies, national retailers and entrepreneurial developers in real estate projects both nationally and across the Washington, DC area. RJ has experience in both landlord and tenant side leasing representation, and has worked on leases of all sizes in grocery-anchored retail centers, mixed use, residential and office buildings, and industrial and flex locations. In addition, RJ has represented both institutional investors and local developers in the acquisition and disposition of improved real estate, including all aspects of title, survey and zoning analysis and review, due diligence, financing and closing logistics.

Prior to joining France Gresham Hamilton, RJ was a Partner in the Washington, DC office of Seyfarth Shaw LLP, an AmLaw 100 law firm. There, RJ enjoyed a general commercial real estate practice in leasing, acquisitions and dispositions and general corporate real estate needs, with a focus on the specific needs of government contractors. Before that, RJ was Assistant General Counsel in a Montgomery County, Maryland-based company specializing in the ownership, management and development of retail, industrial and office properties, including multiple grocery-anchored retail centers.

RJ received his Juris Doctor from American University Washington College of Law. RJ received his Bachelor of Arts, magna cum laude with special honors, in Classical Humanities from The George Washington University. Since 2007, RJ has been an Adjunct Professor of Law in Legal Rhetoric at American University Washington College of Law.
